Kentucky's Regional Prevention Centers

Kentucky’s Regional Prevention Centers (RPCs) assist communities in developing and implementing comprehensive plans to prevent alcohol, tobacco, and other drug (ATOD) use and misuse. Fourteen centers are available to serve all counties in the state.

Prevention specialists at each center provide education and training programs, information, and consultation services to help strengthen and sustain your school’s Purple Star Program. For assistance with prevention efforts in your community, contact the Prevention Center in your region.

Regional Prevention Centers provide the services described below:

  2. Consultation and Technical Assistance – This service provides information and assistance on identifying and utilizing effective prevention programs and strategies.
  3. Information – This service works with local media and other community partners to publicize prevention efforts and get prevention messages to the community.
  4. Training and Education – This service provides training for adults and youth on implementing prevention strategies, and trains individuals and groups who will train others.
