Purple Star Liaison Training

The Purple Star Award requires schools to identify a liaison who serves as the point of contact and support for military-connected youth and families.  The Purple Star Liaison may be a teacher, a Family Resource Youth Service Center Coordinator, a guidance counselor or other school staff.  Schools may choose more than one liaison or create a committee that supports the liaison. 

Purple Star Liaison requirements include:

    1) Being present in the school building during school hours;

    2) Attending the self-paced online training, “Military Youth in Kentucky”;

    3) Completing the pre and post training evaluation survey to receive one EILA credit certificate;

    4) Submitting a brief questionnaire twice a year to provide feedback and for program improvements;

    5) Helping raise school awareness on the unique challenges faced by military-connected youth.
