Purple Star Liaison Training

The Purple Star Award requires schools to identify a liaison who serves as the point of contact and support for military-connected youth and families.  The Purple Star Liaison may be a teacher, a Family Resource Youth Service Center Coordinator, a guidance counselor, or other school staff.  Schools may choose more than one liaison or create a committee that supports the liaison. 

 

Purple Star Liaison requirement:

  1. Be present in the school building during school hours and accessible to students and families.
  2. Understand the military community
  3. Help raise school awareness on the unique challenges faced by military-connected youth.
