PSKY Re-Application Form – The Purple Star Award

Thank you for your continued work building resiliency and supporting military- connected youth in your school. Purple Star Schools are required to reapply every two years. This brief re-application will provide our program coordinator with necessary updates on any points of contact that have occurred since your initial application and will also allow you to share your success with other Purple Star Schools.

The information you provide in this reapplication will be used in the State Purple Star Evaluation Report and to help secure additional funding to sustain our growing network of Purple Star Schools. Reapplications are due by October 30. Schools will receive notification on the status of their renewal by December 15.

II. Professional Development

Each Purple Star Liaison is required to complete in a professional development training focused on military families. Liaisons must attend Military Youth in Kentucky’s Schools training provided by the Purple Star Program or another professional development opportunity if they’ve already attended the required training.

Click on Liaison Training link.
Click on the course titled Military Youth in Kentucky’s Schools to enroll in the course.

III. Activities

The Purple Star Award recognizes schools that show a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military. Purple Star schools demonstrate this commitment by completing at least one of optional activity that demonstrates the school’s ongoing commitment to supporting military-connected youth and their families.
